We may soon see the circuit boards that can be flagged as 100% Eco-friendly. The view is that working is going on developing circuit boards that are completely dis solvable.
In Washington, at University of Illinois a pioneering research is going on which may bring in devices that range from green consumer electronics to bio medical sensor systems that do their work and then disappear.
Keeping in mind health of the environment, the dissolving material which is used is Water. Yes, our future devices will dissolve in water. The devices would be named as 'Bioresorbable'.
The practical applications might include : bioresorbable devices that reduce infection at surgical sites, temporary implantable systems such as electrical brain monitors to aid recovering from severe injuries or electrical simulators to accelerate bone growth.
The devices would provide robust, reliable, high performance operation, but only for finite period of time.
After their function had been done or fulfilled they would disappear through resorption into the body thereby eliminating unnecessary device load. When they are needed again, they would appear again.
So, in future it might happen that as we approach to switch ON light or fan, the switch board would appear randomly in front of us and after the button is pressed it will dissolve/disappear again. Think about it. Seems interesting.
Thus, such devices in the future would be a great achievement in the area of optimized electronics which will serve perfectly without any harm or damage to the environment.
