Most of you people have satisfied yourselves regarding the screen protection of your smartphone by putting on screen guards. Its affirmative that it do protects the screen but what if your smartphone just falls off on road , on a footpath , on a concrete floor or is just hit with something accidentally. Is the screen still in one piece ?
Polymer scientists at the University of Akron, Ohio has answer to your question. According to their researchers, they have developed transparent electrodes which when layered on polymer surfaces takes its flexibility and strength to a much greater level. These can be bend over 1000 times without breaking and thus can be fabricated to mass quantity rolls.
These glasses are just as transparent as the screen transparency we are seeing right now in our smartphones. One big advantage of these screen glasses is that they are economical and hence are expected to hit the market soon without making hole in your pockets.
Thus, its going to revolutionize and nearly replace the touchscreens on which we keep on sliding our fingers whole time without worrying about the screen if the phone eventually falls off our hand.
