Pucs - Rechargeable Ice Cubes

Pucs - Rechargeable Ice Cubes
Doesn't matter whether it is beer, scotch, cold coffee, ice tea or packed juice, things taste really well when they are served ice chilled. People around the world use ice to chill all almost all sorts of drinks. But a simple problem with the ice is that it gets diluted in a couple of minutes as soon as it is poured into any liquid.
But what if our ice cubes never melt down. Think !!

The straight forward answer to the above thought is a project initiated by Kickstarter which has turned into something which is very sweet in its service of chilling up our drinks - it is Pucs.

Pucs are simple solid stainless devices which can be used as a replacement to ice cubes. By this statement, I mean that these little devices are made to provide coldness to your drinks exactly in the same manner as ice cubes do - except the fact that they do not get diluted (obviously they will not, stainless steel does not dilutes).

To get the working done by these Pucs, all you have to do is store them in a freezer just like ice cubes for few hours(about 5 hours normally), and then they are ready for their work. They do not melt, and do not loose their coldness as easily as ice cubes.

The another very nice property of Pucs is that since they are made up of "304 stainless steel", they do not absorb any odour or any smell within themselves. This was a problem with the ice cubes that they absorbed odours from other stuff inside the freezer and then taste bad in the drinks(sometimes). But in case of Pucs, this issue is being resolved.

A small drawback of Pucs is that since they are made up of steel so they are much heavier than ice cubes. Because of this they have to be handled with utmost care or you might end up making a crack in your glass.

You can order Pucs by clicking on this link : I want Pucs. They will be delivered in a very sweetly crafted wooden box in a pack of six.

So, overall I can say that Pucs is an innovative idea but will it prove itself to be better than the natural solified water i.e ice ?
